Experimental Music Workshop: Another Pattern

The USC Experimental Music Workshop teams up with composer/percussionist Tim Feeney (University of Alabama) and flutist/soprano Alice Teyssier (International Contemporary Ensemble) for a concert of exciting sound making. Along with Feeney and Teyssier, the Workshop will present music by Pauline Oliveros as well as the the world premiere of Feeney’s “Another Pattern” for two duos and ensemble. Local Musician Pairs Electro-Acoustic Music with Projections and Philosophy First Thursday April at Tapp’s Arts Center will feature flutist and electronic musician Philip Snyder, sound engineer Chris Johnson and projection artist Michael Shoppell. The three will collaborate to make sounds and images framed by the circular trajectory of the philosophical “existential crisis.” While this inspiration will pervade the work, the audience is encouraged to find their own path of experience through the performance.
