Dance Church Sunday at Tapp’s Arts Center is a monthly Sunday morning improvisational dance experience that allows people to explore and experience themselves through movement. All agendas and judgments are left at the door in a sacred space created in the Skyline Room at Tapp’s – a place to have fun, drop all expectations and let the creativity of your soul and body move to the music. You will dance, sweat, laugh and cry. All people are welcome and the space is fully accessible.
Dance Church Sunday Leader, Anne Marie Cockrell, has a degree in Movement studies and Dance Therapy from the Naropa Institute, and is a certified Azul Conscious Movement Teacher. She previously held the Sunday Morning Dance in Columbia which was home to the Columbia Conscious Dance Tribe.
Anne Marie believes that dance is a healing art and strives to create a community that supports personal transformation.
Comfortable, loose clothing and bringing water to drink is recommended. There will be some light refreshments and juice available. Dancing is typically done barefoot, although comfortable shoes are welcome.
Time: 10:30am -12:00pm
Warm up music starts at 10:15
